The Clogging School
Pre-professional Program

The Clogging School
The Masters Clogging Program delivers a dynamic and progressive percussive dance curriculum designed for dancers seeking precision, musicality, and advanced technical development. Placement within the school is determined by each dancer’s experience, skill level, and commitment, ensuring a supportive environment tailored to individual growth. The comprehensive Masters Clogging Program guides students from fundamental steps to advanced clogging techniques using a step-by-step approach, structured across two divisions

Division 1
Levels 1-3
In Division 1, dancers embark on an exciting journey through the fundamentals of clogging, building a strong foundation step by step. Each level is carefully designed to introduce new skills in a progressive, supportive environment. Students start with basic footwork and rhythms, gradually mastering more complex combinations and movements as their confidence and technique grow. With each class, dancers not only develop their technical abilities but also cultivate musicality and stage presence, setting the stage for advanced training in higher divisions. Each level meets for 1 hour, twice per week.

Division 2
Levels 4-11
Division 2 represents the advanced tier of the Masters Clogging Program, offering a rigorous curriculum designed to refine technical mastery, enhance musicality, and develop performance artistry. Students in this division are challenged with complex choreography and advanced rhythmic patterns, fostering a high level of precision and versatility. The program’s comprehensive approach ensures dancers receive individualized support while preparing for professional-level performance opportunities. Enrollment in a weekly one-hour tap class is also required, further strengthening each dancer’s rhythmic skills and technical clarity. This upper division stands as a testament to the school’s commitment to excellence, providing an environment where dedicated dancers can achieve their full potential.

WHAT TO WEAR TO CLASS
Class uniforms create a sense of unity and professionalism while helping students feel confident and focused. By removing distractions around clothing choices, uniforms allow dancers to concentrate on technique, alignment, and learning. They also help instructors clearly see body placement and movement, ensuring more effective feedback and safer training. Overall, class uniforms promote consistency, discipline, and a strong team identity within the studio.

Performances
Transforming Practice into Performance Excellence
At this stage of clogging training, onstage performance becomes a vital component of a dancer’s artistic development. As a dynamic performing art, clogging requires dancers to engage in live stage presentations, which serve as an essential aspect of their training. Our dancers diligently prepare for these performances, allowing them to refine their skills, build confidence, and further their mastery of the craft.

For advanced dancers, performance opportunities expand to include specialized productions and repertoire designed for higher levels of technical and artistic achievement. These experiences enable dancers to assume more challenging roles and collaborate in professionally staged presentations. Participation at this level not only encourages artistic growth but also equips dancers with the skills and experience necessary for future endeavors in the performing arts.
